But try the following advanced search string for an insight into what people are saying about the BBC: site:facebook.com/topic bbc

Search in Facebook for BBC and the top group coming back is BBC College of Journalism group. Hardly the sort of place you’d expect to find the free flow of opinion on the Corporation!

By contrast, the Google search returns plenty of whinges about products, programs and policy. Plenty to keep the Press section in work for a while…

From a journalistic point of view, this has plenty of uses. Say you’re a regional journalist from Coventry, or if you’re a Science correspondent, you name it, there are people talking about it.
